After suffering with nearly a year of knee injuries and nagging pain, Monster Energy Team Green Kawasaki's Mark Worth still managed to rack up a slew of amazing finishes at nationals all across the States. After undergoing corrective surgery on his ACL and various other knee problems, Worth recently got back on his Kawasaki KX250f and is now feeling more comfortable than ever. With another year further on an elite team and plans to revamp his personal program in the coming months, Mark is gunning to take the top spot at a national near you. Before then however, keep your eyes peeled on the Arenacross: Ricky Carmichael Road to Supercross, as Worth plans to take his stab at the intense, talent filled, bar banging series before its conclusion and spring racing begins. We contacted Mark to see how his first day on the bike went, his plans on RC's Road To SX, his team, and more on his 2015 plans in the works.
I haven't really made any plans on training, I'm just wanting to get back to riding and see how things go...then I'll step up my training. After riding I can definitely feel I need to get back in shape but a few weeks of riding and I'll be dialed!
I GUESS NO ONE SEEMED TO REALIZE I WAS 13. I DID TWO YEARS IN THE B CLASS AND WON SOME CHAMPIONSHIPS AND NOW I'M GOING TO MAKE MY WAY INTO THE A CLASS. I HOPE TO TURN SOME HEADS....
MP: Arenacross has started and the 2015 race season is now officially underway. When is the first time we can expect to see you on the track and what is your race schedule looking like for the year?
Mark Worth: Yes, the Arenacross series has started and I'm actually excited to get on an arenacross track and train to do a few rounds. I'll most likely do the last few rounds, once I'm feeling ready. I will be at the Loretta Lynn's area qualifier at ACP. That's in about a month on February 14th. My plan is just to be safe and qualify but it'll be nice to be on the gate again. After that I'll just be taking it day by day and see how I feel for the Spring Nationals.
I guess no one seemed to realize that I was 13. I did two years in the B class and won some championships and now I'm going to make my way into the A class. I hope to then turn some heads in the industry and enter the pro ranks and battle with the big boys.
MP: You've got a ton of great people backing you making this race season possible, let me know who they are?
Mark Worth: The Lord for keeping me safe, the whole family, Mom and Dad are always my #1 supporters, Monster Energy Team Green Kawasaki, Pro Circuit, Fly Racing, Scott, 6D Helmets, Dunlop, Maxima Racing Oils, Matrix Concepts, and Motion Pro.
MP: Thanks so much for working with us and good luck this season! We look forward to hearing more!
Mark Worth: I think it's awesome working with you guys. I've been doing stuff with MotoPlayground since day one, so I'm always happy to work with you guys!
