Riding for Monster Energy Team Green Kawasaki is the #82 of Garrett Marchbanks from Coalville, Utah. At just 13 years old The Dunlop Team Elite rider has no intentions on stopping anytime soon so watch out...
MP: Tell me about your training and what you do to prepare yourself for race day.
Garrett Marchbanks: I train at Club MX In chesterfield, South Carolina. At club we have a set schedule depending on weather. We do a little warm up in the morning, schooling and then ride. Afterwards we work out, cycle or mountain bike. I have a little chill time with Buddies and then usually a little more school and then bedtime. We recently came home for a month or so. To prepare myself for race day I need to get plenty of sleep, stay hydrated and eat good. I also cycle to help me get ready.
MP: Talk about your last race and how it went.
MP: Talk about being apart of the Dunlop Team Elite and how much they help you out.
Garrett Marchbanks: Being a part of Dunlop team elite is awesome! They have so many to chose from and to know that I have been chosen for quite a few years is a great honor. To have their support is unbelievable as well as the service we get at the races from them.
MP: On instagram I noticed you posted a couple pictures riding a big bike, what's your plans?
Garrett Marchbanks: I begged my dad to let me ride it when I got home for a few minutes. Finishing out supermini this year and then maybe a big bike depending on my size
MP: What's your goals for this year?
Garrett Marchbanks: Train harder than ever and win the Nationals. Races coming up will be Loretta qualifiers, mammoth, and Loretta Lynn's. After lorettas I will take a couple of weeks off to visit family and then make our decision to stay on minis or move up and start the training process all over again
MP: What got you started in racing?
Garrett Marchbanks: We went to a honda shop in park city to get a part for my dad and I saw a little honda 50. I sat on it and didn't want to leave the store. We went to the truck and I was so upset my dad went back in and bought it. I rode it every day and started making little jumps. I wore a great big helmet and irrigating boots. I was 5 at that time and then when I was 6 a friend told my dad about a little fair race a few towns away and that was it, I was hooked
MP: Riding since the age of 5, you have made a lot of memories racing since then. Which memory stands out the most to you?
Garrett Marchbanks: My first Loretta's championship on 65s. Well to begin with I had to go in as an alternate because Mx sports did not receive our entry so I was lucky to even get to race. I took a 2-1-1 in the stock class with a first overall and in the mod I won two of the motos but went down in one taking 10th with an overall of second.
MP: What else do you like to do in your free time besides racing?
Garrett Marchbanks: Hunting, fishing and building forts. Out at club some buddies and I built a fort to hang out in and now that I am back at home we are building a fort to hang out in and to hunt out of up on our mountainside. May 1st is a turkey hunt and then after monster cup is our deer hunting season. I fish out at the ponds in the Carolinas at club as well as out of our creek out the back door at home. I love fishing at freestone and lorettas too.
MP: Describe motocross in one sentence.
Garrett Marchbanks: Motocross is hard work, determination, see the results and always room for improvement...

Garrett Marchbanks: My sponsors, Monster Energy Kawasaki Team Green, JGR , Club MX, Team Dunlop, Fox, Maxima, Scott, Pro Circuit, RAD Wheels, Leatt, Renthal
