Crossland Racing, GPI, Motorsport Inc backed Chase Marquier stepped into the Arenacross: Ricky Carmichael Road to Supercross in Colorado Springs, Colorado where he iced his way to a highly impressive fourth in the Lites west main event. With the first round jitters gone, Marquier is prepared to dice it up at the Nashville round as he charges for his second point and first trip to the tip of the Arenacross Lites podium. Promising more aggression and passion driven riding, Chase Marquier is truly going to give it his all to land near the top in 2015 and beyond.
Chase Marquier: Yeah for sure, I've just been riding some supercross tracks out in California and working on doing some sprints. Workout wise, I have been doing some intense rapid circuits to get my heart rate high to levels they will reach in the races.
MP: Let's break down your Friday night in Colorado Springs. You got off to a hot start, landing a third in your Lites heat race. Take me through that race and how it felt to put yourself into the top three right from the beginning?
Chase Marquier: Colorado Springs went pretty good for me. I honestly didn't know what to expect coming in, I just wanted to get that point! I qualified okay in both classes for the night show, so once I got that off my back I told my self that the worrying is over. I can just go have fun now and who cares how I do. I was the first heat and I was pretty amped up from the crowd and the opening ceremonies. I got a good gate pick and ripped a fat holeshot and led a few laps until I got passed in the whoops. That was the same case with the main also...
MP: You recently landed yourself a great ride with the Crossland Racing/ GPI/ Motorsport Inc crew. Tell me how it feels to have a such a stable support system behind you as you prepare to take the next steps in your racing career.
Chase Marquier: I couldn't be more happy about getting a ride with the Motosport/Gpi/Honda team. It's such a great group of people and everyone is so supportive. I'm really excited they have me on board. I can't thank those guys enough!
MP: With Nashville this weekend...what are your thoughts and expectations? After a strong performance last week and your first point earned, you've got to be hungry for more.
Chase Marquier: Going into Nashville this weekend, I know what to expect now so I'm gonna be going for it. I'm hungry to win and show everyone that I can win. Oh and I think I'll be a little bit more aggressive this weekend too haha.
MP: Moving forward, where will you be racing to obtain your third and final point and what is on your schedule from here?
Chase Marquier: I plan on racing in Kansas City, Missouri for that to be my third stop and hopefully I can get the job done there. After that I'm going to Daytona and Freestone.
MP: Let's talk sponsors. Alias has blown up and made a substantial impact on the industry in a very short time. They've got recruits of all ages and skill levels and are making a strong push to support amateur motocross and the sport as a whole. Tell me about your experience working with everyone at Alias.
Chase Marquier: Alias is another sponsor that I'm extremely thankful for. Everyone seems to be super cool and Bruce hooks it up for me. Not to mention they have the best looking gear out there. I hope to be with them for many years to come!
MP: Who else would you like to thank? I know there are a lot more people behind the scenes keeping the #976 Honda's ripping?
Chase Marquier: I would like to say thank you to my Mom, Dad, and Brother. My mechanic Daniel especially, he always has my bike perfect. Scott Goggles, 5th Gear Cycle, Factory Connection, Bell Helmets, Naveen, Gaerne, EVS, Factory Effex, ODI, Sunstar, Acerbis, Works Connection, Twin Air, and Redrock Fuels.
MP: Thanks a ton for your time and we look forward to seeing you in Nashville, good luck Chase!
Chase Marquier: Thanks guys! See you there.
