Coming from Benton City, Washington is the #583 of Johnathon Shaw. Johnathon had an outstanding performance in the Amsoil Arenacross Series where he came home with a championship in Open C and 250 C, and was runner up in Schoolboy 2. The Washington athlete came up short in making it to loretta's this year but plans to keep on the grind and focus on getting faster as he plans to race in the B class this year in Arenacross.
Johnathon Shaw: My training consists of going to Rackley Sports Preformance Training on Mondays and Wednesdays from 6-7:30. Brian Rackley is an awesome fitness trainer and has helped me out a lot. I also train with Scot Steffy of Steffy MX training when I can. He has helped me out for a long time now. I also ride when I can in between races, baseball.
MP: Talk about your last race and how it went
Johnathon Shaw: My last race was at Washougal MX park for the area qualifier. It was my first outdoor race in 2 months do to racing the Amsoil AX series. Was rusty for sure! My first moto was going great when I crashed my brains out going up horse power hill. I had a pretty good lead when I hit a wet spot and swapped out. Got up and still finished ok. Over all it was a rough weekend but still pulled out a couple overall wins and 2 top 5’s. I raced the 250C and 450C classes.
MP: What's your goals for this year?
Johnathon shaw: My first goal for 2015 was to make it to Vegas for AX and finish on the podium. I did that so now it’s on to the Loretta regional at Washougal in June. If I make it to Loretta’s we will go there and if not we will race Amateur days at Washougal instead. This fall we will try and go to Dodge National Race in Rancho Cordova CA. In the winter I will be racing AX again in the B classes.
