Martin Castelo is an Ecuadorian transplant who currently resides and trains full time in Cairo Georgia at Millsaps Training Facility. Castelo has been putting up solid showings in a stacked A Class this year and hopes that his hard work and committed spirit lands him on top of the box at the Dude Ranch next month. Mentally and physically strong, Castelo is making the best of his time while in the States and making his name known in the amateur scene. We checked in to get to know the #130 a little better before Loretta's.
At 4 we had a gym session and today was leg day. We got done at about 5 and did some stretching and rolling. Then me and Keith Tucker went to get some dinner in Thomasville and then to Publix after to get some groceries for the rest of the week. I got back to my camper and watched some moto videos and GoPros from Loretta's, it's coming quick but I feel like I'll be ready when the time comes. After that I took a shower, Face Timed my parents and did some bible study right before falling asleep!
MP: Let's talk about your training, what's it like?
Martin Castelo: I'm a full time rider at the Millsaps Training Facility and live in a little town called Cairo, Georgia. We usually ride either at MTF or MTF2 which is a property with some SX tracks and an outdoor track. It's been mostly motos and sprints for the last month or so for myself and all the pro guys, I'm lucky enough to get to ride with a real good group of people. And it's been going awesome I feel really strong on the bike, probably better than ever before. Every time I get on the track I put all my focus into my weaknesses and try to make them strengths so it's been going good!
