Yamaha ripper Josh Cartwright has been making quite a bit of noise in the Arenacross Lites division lately, as he was one of the first riders to accrue three points and complete Ricky Carmichael's Road to Supercross. Despite a few sketchy get off's, including one which ended in the stands, Cartwright managed to make it out of the intense racing unscathed and is ready for the remainder of the 2015 season, which hopefully includes the Dallas Supercross. Not only did he leave with a podium in the Lites main in Grand Rapids, but Cartwright also secured the top qualifying spot in three of five occasions proving he has the skills to pay the indoor moto bills. After Josh wrapped things up in Colorado we got the details on his Arenacross experience as a whole, future plans, supporters, hobbies, and more for today's Feature!
Josh Cartwright: My very first race as a five year old was at an AMA Arenacross race in Nashville, TN. So to return to Arenacross and acquire my Supercross points was a special moment for my family. I think Ryan Surratt and I were the first riders this year to acquire our points, which is a coincidence since Ryan and I both were #51 throughout our amateur careers. Another coincidence is I live in the same city as Ricky Carmichael. I bet he didn’t expect the first rider to get his “Ricky Carmichael Road to Supercross”points this year to live in the same city as he does. I think that’s a good Supercross stat for Jeff Emig and Ralph Sheheen.
