Monster Energy Team Green Kawasaki elite Mitchell Harrison has been busy banging bars in the Arenacross Lites class, racking up a pair of heat race wins as well as a big main event victory in his home state. Making Michigan proud, Harrison battled his way to the top spot on Saturday night in Grand Rapids, etching his name on the Road To Supercross winners list. With an undeniable amount of steam behind him, 2015 is Mitchell's for the taking.
MP: Mitchell, thanks for taking the time to talk with us! Congrats on the win on Saturday. Let's start with last week. You burst onto the Arenacross Lites scene with a big heat race win and ended your first main just inside the top ten. Take me through your first night in Arenacross.
Mitchell Harrison: Thank you! It felt great to be on the top step of the podium! I started the night off really good with a heat race win and I was feeling really confident coming into Arenacross. I felt really prepared and ready to take on a new challenge. Going into the main, I felt like I was the one to beat. I got an alright holeshot and worked my way to third but the guys in Arenacross are very aggressive and it took me a while to get used to that. I ended up crashing and taking ninth but it was a good first night. I learned a lot and that's all I can ask for.
The #457 ride of Darian Sanayei has been setting the motocross community ablaze for quite some time now, earning himself the title "national champion" on many occasions throughout his tenure as an amateur. No stranger to the podium, Darian stuck himself on the top of the box once again at round one of the Amsoil Arenacross Series in the AX Lites class in Cincinnati, Ohio. We caught up with the Monster Energy Team Green recruit after securing his first of three necessary points to graduate through the Ricky Carmichael: Road to Supercross. After facing splashes of doubt and adversity head on throughout his career, Darian has proven time and time again that he refuses to be counted out. With his strong will and stronger support system, 2015 looks to be very promising for the Washington native.
