Missouri's Benny Bloss put himself on the map sometime ago, however most recently his inspiring performances at Loretta Lynn's as well as his big podium at the Monster Energy Cup let it be known to the industry he means business. With plans to do even better this year, Benny is shooting for the stars...in a literal sense as well. Picking up a camera during his injured down time, Benny has been honing his skills with the lens and looks to explore more opportunities there as well. Bloss has got quite a big plate with a lot on it as 2015 kicks into gear and he wouldn't have it any other way. Look for Benny and his Blu Cru backed Yamaha's to be fighting for the top spot at a race near you.
Benny Bloss: The life of Benny Bloss lately really hasn't been as fun as normal! Unfortunately I'm still not able to ride due to my shoulder injury. My legs still work perfect though so I've been hitting the gym working on getting them as strong as they can be while I'm out. But pretty much my days consist of school work, physical therapy, and lower body workouts. I'm a very active kid, I like being outside and moving around so it's hard to not go crazy being in the house all the time! I'm really looking forward to being able to ride again!
MP: I know you've been busy preparing for the 2015 season. It's shaping up to be a huge year for you. Where have you been training and who with to prepare for the spring nationals? Elaborate on your time spent working with the RTC crew!
MP: It's really great to see you active off the bike in so many ways. How did you actually get into the photography gig? Not too many racers make it on the other side of the lens!
Benny Bloss: So for Christmas this year I got a new camera. I've started a new hobby with it, trying to go to the local tracks as much as possible and taking pictures of stuff around the house. Last month I took a trip to California to hang out with the RTC crew and go to A2. I took my camera with me and I got used to it a little more! So I figured while I'm hurt, I might as well try something new. I'm hoping that maybe when I go to Freestone to watch, I can take my camera and take pictures there! You can check my pictures out at @_bbphotos_ on Instagram!
MP: Speaking of 2015, what are your plans for racing? Where can we expect to see you in staging this year?
Benny Bloss: Right now my plans for 2015 big races are to do Mammoth, Loretta's, and then Monster cup. I'm not sure about after that! But now that I'm in the pro class, I'll probably be going to more local races to keep myself on the gate and try to make some money.
MP: You've came out to our camp and been able to experience the Diggity. Give the readers your perspective on the controlled madness that is known as BOOM DIGGITY!
Benny Bloss: I went to both Boom and Fall Diggity last year. I think what Harold has created is really awesome! The training part is great because you get a variety of styles from the different trainers as well as good tracks. The ruts at fall diggity were ridiculous, every single track had at least one corner that you could drag bars in! And then the off the track activities... you have dodgeball, crazy pit bike races, adventure run! Boom diggity gives you a chance to go to the wakeboard park which is really really fun! The whole experience is truly amazing! I recommend it to anyone, no matter what skill level!
